WPA History

The Origin

In 1996, there was a message board called Everlasting Heart. This board was specifically related to feral wolf role play. Anyone who joined was given a choice between 3 wolf packs. One was called Wolf Pack Alpha. The others Wolf Pack Beta, and Wolf Pack Omega.

I, Patrick D. Howell, chose to be in the 'Alpha' pack. I became a regular member and poster. Meanwhile I started seeing myself as more than just a character in a game. I discovered by experiences in my past and signs, knowledge of sources, and influence of others around me, that I researched websites, books, and other methods of gathering information as to what I really was, who I really am, and what I needed to do at that point.

I discovered that I was spiritually, inside myself, a wolf. This was a tremendous impact at what Wolf Pack Alphas' fait would forge into.
I took to being the Alpha of the pack, causing an Exodus to extend it's presence out side of the message board and into Yahoo! Chat. This is where soon it would be deemed the institution of a family and a organization of spiritual like minded members. It grew in population to a strong and powerful pack. I had sisters, brothers, a mate and a few that considered themselves as my pups. I loved them dearly and still do.

The Grown and Developed Pack

My skills as a leader, Alpha of the pack, grew keen as I forged it since 1996 to currently as I write this, 2009. It survived allot of punishment, hard times, good times. We started to gather together in real life in a 'howl' once a year. The howl convention normally happens in Oklahoma City but may divert eventually to other places.

Our perpose no longer a role playing pack of wolves has become a private learning group and a very close family for those who want to learn about therianthropy whether they are or not therian. Some of us are furries, average non furry/therian, and those who are either or both in a different species. Anyone is welcome that can fall under the pack law's as a guideline.

Our highest pack member census count is currently 64 members. The census is taken at the beginning and 6 months into the year.
